at SEMA 2000 More updates on many cars and parts this week. 2001 Roush Stage 3
We were at the presentation of the new Roush machines. There was a nice Roush F150 and other truck there but the focus was on the Mustangs, below their release on the new rides: Roush Perfonnance announced today that it has taken one of the all-time great cars and re-engineered it to create the new Roush Stage 3 Mustang, a Supercharged/Intercooled 4.6L SOHC V8 powered muscle car that will be both exciting and affordable. Roush Perfonnance is a subsidiary of Livonia, Mich., based Roush Industries. Features include power upgrades, Roush signature side-exit exhaust and side skirting gives the car a sporty look and a race-inspired exhaust note. The front fascia has been redesigned using an exercise that focuses on form following function, producing better aerodynamics, increased airflow for cooling and superb styling. Out back, Roush Engineers have placed a bold, aggressive rear wing. "I challenged my team to find the balance between a racecar and a road car," says Jack Roush, founder of Roush Industries, Inc. "I started out over 30 years ago racing Mustangs. To me, it's always been about Mustangs and I am pleased to be here today unveiling this exciting muscle car." Roush Perfonnance, a subsidiary of Roush Industries, is committed to the development and manufacturing of OE-quality high-perfonnance niche vehicles. Headquartered in Livonia, Mich., Roush Perfonnance has a dealer base of250 Ford dealers across the United States and four dedicated assembly facilities supporting 13 regional markets. All facets of Roush are accessible through the Internet at www.RoushRacing.com, www.Roushlnd.com and www.RoushPerf.com. Interesting tid bit: Since the 2001 GT's are shipped with the 2 inset pillar 35th annversary style wings in place you have 4holes at the rear spoiler if you ever decide to go to a standard wing or 99 wing style. Nice thing about the Roush wing is that you can mount it to an 01 and it comes with little pillars that cover the factory 2001 spoiler holes which are set in more than the 99's are.. neat.
